I could have some conflicting Midi or Midi-Sync settings somewhere, but I have no clue where to look. When I press "sync" at "input: 7-FA-06 08" in the "Link MIDI"-Tab of Ableton, I'm even able to control the tempo from my FA-07, but still the "Play"-Buttton just not works. But the playback of Ableton just doesn't want to start anymore. Everything else seems to work (like: "forward", "backwards"-buttons). until I hit the "EXT" in Ableton to sync my FA-07 (as a Master) with Ableton. I was quite happy with the result and everything worked really well. Then I've found out that this "Ableton Live"-Preset was introduced by the FA v2.0 firmware-update and within the documentation of the v2.0 update, I've finally found some information about the "Ableton Live"-Preset.įollowing that v2.0 documentation, I've configured my Ableton (like the picture, I've attached). The problem with all the tutorials I've found was: They didn't use the "Ableton Live"-Preset in DAW-Control mode (using "User" instead). So I'm still pretty clueless, though I was able to make some progress at least: I'm sorry that it took so long for an answer, but everytime I thought I had the problem surrounded, it turned out not to be the case the next day. Can anybody shed light on my problem?ĪbletonProblem.01.jpg (78.44 KiB) Viewed 2299 times I'm sorry for my poor descripion of the problem, but I'm really totally in the dark here and don't know that to do. I got everything working nice, except 'syncing' the FA-07's tempo with Cubase. Things work better in a very old version of Cubase (Cubase 5): (By the way: Turning 'sync' on an off also plays that 'horror-movie-cluster' anoter user described in the thread "Problem with random notes") But that time the Start/Stop buttons didn't work. ![]() No matter what combination I choose in Abletons "MIDI-Ports" Dialoge, as soon I turn 'sync' on, all notes become 'short', like I've described above.Įxcept once: that time I had 'sync' on just for the "FA-06 08" device. Almost like it had just a little decay and all the other values set to zero in an ADSR-Envelope. Whenever I press the "Ext" button, the tempo in Ableton does sync with my Roland, but the Sounds I play get really short. I would like to use the Roland with Ableton Live 10. I've studied several tutorials on YT or the web, but I still can't get my FA-07 to work properly in DAW-Mode using all the possibilities, especially 'sync up' the Midi-Clock: I want the tempo, I dial in at the keyboad-knob showing up at the DAW. I guess the first one is for the Roland beeing a 'Masterkeyboard", the other two for DAW-Fuctionality. There're three different Roland Midi-Devices showing up at the Setup-Page ("FA-06 08", "FA-06 08 DAW CTRL" and "FA-06 08 CTRL"). I have to say, I'm totally confused about using the Roland Fa-07 as a Soundcard/DAW Controller. ![]()
